The video on the monitor reacts on the LW (Langwelle / longwave) frequencies from the radio, standing in opposite of the monitor. Depending on the different noise from the unstable frequency, the videosignal reacts with failures.
LW or longwave is the same as very low frequencies. Low frequencies have very long distance between each radio wave - thus the term Long Wave. One big problem when tuning longwave is electrical noise from power lines, electrical devices, motors, etc. LW is far more susceptible to such noise than higher frequencies, and you might hear only a loud 'buzz' when you tune across longwave from your location.
